Kongero & WÖR

​'Songbooks' is a marriage between voices and instruments – WÖR, a Belgian band known for inventive instrumental arrangements of 18th-century manuscripts from the lowlands, and Kongero, a boundary-pushing Swedish Folk'appella group that brings a powerful and evocative approach to Scandinavian Folk Songs.

 

Their collaborative live show consists of stories, songs, tunes, themes that appear in Belgian and Swedish traditions, and an original composition written primarily for 'Songbooks.'  The effect is lively, sincere, beautiful, and groovy. The arrangements are exquisite, letting every song speak, and every musician's expression shine, allowing all instruments and voices to have their role and place - in building this magical show together.

This colaboration was nominated as 'Best Live Band' for the 'Flanders Folk Awards 2025'. In January 2026 they will released their album.​
